Hamptons Running Events: 5K and Beyond
The sun has officially come out and the temperature is climbing. It’s time to dust off those running shoes and get ready to race this summer. There’s nothing like being outdoors on the East End in the Summer. These races are great opportunities to take in a breath of fresh air!
TURBO TRI SUPER SPRINT TRIATHLON – 6/18, 5 p.m.
Benefits i-tri, a project that helps adolescent girls improve their self-esteem while they train for a youth triathlon. Registration is $120 for individuals and $180 for relay teams. The race will begin at the Maidstone Park Pavilion in Springs, East Hampton. There will be a post-race dinner at the Pavilion. itrigirls.org/turbo-tri
37th ANNUAL SHELTER ISLAND 10K/5K RUN/WALK – 6/18, 5:30 p.m.
Benefits East End Hospice, Shelter Island Run Community Fund and Timothy Hill Children’s Ranch. Registration is $40 for the 10K Run $30 for the 5K Run/Walk. Registration after June 16 is $50 for the 10K and 40$ for the 5K Run/Walk. Registration closes at 4 pm the day of the race. The race will begin at Shelter Island High School on School Street, Shelter Island. There will be free shuttle service to and from the race. shelterislandrun.com
FIRECRACKER 8K RUN AND 3 MILE WALK – 7/3, 8:00 a.m.
Benefits the Southampton Rotary Scholarship Fund. Begins at 25 Pond Lane, Southampton. Pre-registration fee is $30 before July 1. The entry fee on the day of the race is $35. firecracker8k.com
THE PBMC NORTHWELL HEALTH JAMESPORT TRIATHLON – 7/10, 6:50 a.m.

26th ANNUAL WESTHAMPTON BEACH JOE KOZIARZ MEMORIAL 5K – 7/16, 8 a.m.
Race benefits Southampton PAL, Peconic Bay Medical Center Emergency Room, Koziarz Hurricane Fund and other charities. Pre-registration fee is $25 and ends June 30. Registration is $30 after July 1 until race day. Race starts at the Village Green, Main Street, Westhampton Beach. itsyourrace.com
AHRC SUFFOLK & SYS ANNUAL RUN FOR A REASON 5K – 7/25, 9 a.m.
This event benefits AHRC Suffolk, a non-profit organization supporting Long Island adults and children with developmental disabilities. The pre-entry fee is $20 and the day of race entry fee is $25. The race begins at 25 Pond Lane in Southampton. elitefeats.com
21st ANNUAL ELLEN’S RUN 5K – 8/21, 9 a.m.
Benefits the Ellen Hermanson Foundation, which helps breast cancer victims. Race starts at Parrish Memorial Hall at the Southampton Hospital, Southampton. Registration is $30. ellensrun.org
