Lena Dunham and 'Girls' Cast Speak Out Against Sexual Assault
Hamptons fan Lena Dunham and the cast of Girls—Jemima Kirke, Allison Williams and Zosia Mamet—have released a special video in response to the controversial Stanford University sexual assault case. The case, in which a college freshman was convicted on three felony counts of sexual assault and only got three months prison time, has sparked an outpouring of support for the survivor and an outcry of anger and disbelief at the convicted sex offender’s sentence.
Dunham, along with Kirke, Williams and Mamet, use their signature charm and wit to get some important facts across about sexual abuse and how we can support those hurt by it. Dunham dedicated the video to the Stanford survivor.
