Rock Out to Great Local Music Out East
The beaches are alive with the sound of live music! There’s a venue for every genre on the East End and many of the shows are free. Check out some of the highlights of summer 2016 below. For complete listings visit Events.DansPapers.com.
Concert on the Green located at 742 Montauk Highway in Montauk is back for summer 2016 with new bands playing every Monday night. Look for the Lynn Blue Band on Monday, June 27 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Past performers include Nancy Atlas, Mike and Friends, Job Potter & Friends, and the bluegrass group the Feinberg Brothers.

Concerts in the Park, at Agawam Park and Coopers Beach in Southampton, returns this summer. Some of the artists performing will include East End indie singer/songwriter, Nancy Atlas, on Tuesday, July 5 at Agawam Park. On July 6, R&B artists The Lone Sharks will be performing at Coopers Beach, where American rock band New Life Crisis will appear on July 27. Some of the other performers include Project Vibe, Mambo Loco, Billboard Live and Danza Nova.

Stephen Talkhouse, located in Amagansett, opened in 1987 and has been host to hundreds of great musicians. In July, The Gary Douglas Band performs their rhythm and blues-infused rock ’n’ roll on the 21st. The band will soon release a new album, which they are looking forward to playing live. Also featured this summer is solo recording artist Donovan Frankenreiter with Tom Curren on August 1. Frankenreiter’s latest album is titled The Heart and marks this singer’s second decade as a solo recording artist. On August 3, Long Island native, singer-songwriter Jeff Leblanc will perform. Leblanc’s most recent album, Vision, is set to separate him from the crowded field of singer/songwriters and bring more soul and R&B to his signature blend of smooth pop.

Bay Burger in Sag Harbor hosts The Jam Session of the Hamptons. This season’s Special Guest Series 2016 features Alex Sipiagin on trumpet, and Michele Calgaro on guitar. Every Thursday night is Music Night from 7 to 9 p.m., which is a weekly jam session for local musicians that’s broadcast on Peconic Public Broadcasting 88.3 (WPPB). There’s no cover charge or reservations required. At Bay Burger the All That Jazz! All Star Super Band plays. They’re a group of musicians with roots in the genres of Mambo, Funk, Jazz, Nordic and South African music. Featured musicians are all previous guests at The Jam Session; The All Star Super Band lineup includes Randy Brecker, Ray Anderson, Morris Goldberg, Ada Rovatti, Jim Campagnola, Peter Martin Weiss, Bill Smith and Claes Brondal. Instruments include trumpet, flugelhorn, trombone, alto sax, tenor and baritone sax, bass, piano and drums.
