Adrien Brody, Brooke Shields and More at Art Southampton
Art Southampton opens tonight, July 7. Located at Nova’s Ark Project in Bridgehampton, the event will feature over 60 prominent galleries from the United States and around the world, all collected under the roof of its elegant pavilion.
Among the galleries and artists showcasing their work this weekend will be a number of familiar faces such as Academy Award winning actor Adrien Brody (The Pianist, The Grand Budapest Hotel), Brooke Shields and Shark Tank’s ‘Mr. Wonderful’, Kevin O’Leary.
Brody will be showcasing his new series of paintings, “Hooked”, consisting of paintings featuring fish and defaced cultural logos and products. Evoking a little bit of Warhol and a little bit of Banksy, Brody’s paintings focus on showing his audience how “hooked” we are on “instant excess, access and convenience.”
O’Leary’s will be displaying his series of contemporary photos, “Irreconcilable Images.” The collection is comprised of photos O’Leary has taken throughout his life, presenting the unique images he’s captured on his journeys around the world. All proceeds from sales will be donated to the Perry J. Cohen Foundation and Teenage Entrepreneurs.
Shields, along with painter David Kratz, will curate the New York Academy of Art’s exhibit “Call of the Wild,” a compilation of over thirty paintings and sculptures by alumni of the academy, featuring themes and scenes of animals and the natural world.
These three stars’ exhibits only scratch the surface of the astounding art that will be on display all weekend. It’s an event that is certainly not one to skip.
Art Southampton starts July 7 with a VIP preview and will be open every day until July 11. Tickets are currently available online at art-southampton.com.
