Gwyneth Paltrow Challenges "Most Hated Celebrity" Title
In 2013, Star magazine deemed Hamptonite Gwyneth Paltrow as The Most Hated Celebrity of Hollywood, but Paltrow doesn’t think she deserves the title.
During BBC News’ Hard Talk, an amused Paltrow told Stephen Sackur how she first reacted when she heard the news. “First of all I was like, ‘I’m the most hated celebrity? What did I do?’”
In the article, Star explained that Paltrow often rubbed people the wrong way and called Paltrow arrogant and pretentious.
She later told Sackur in the interview how she disregarded these designations, “All I can do is be my authentic self,” she said. “But I think there are things about me that make people draw conclusions. For example, there is the perception that I grew up very wealthy.”
Being a humanitarian, Paltrow does little to draw attention to her self and tries to live a semi-colloquial life. After giving birth to her two children, Apple, 12, and Moses, 10, Paltrow decided to take a break from acting. Paltrow also founded Goop, a lifestyle blog and brand. The website has everything from advice about relationships to book reviews to online shopping to recipes.
Paltrow contributes to charities. In 2015, she donated to and attended the fourth annual Hamptons Paddle and Party for Pink fundraiser, which raised money for breast cancer research. Time Magazine also named her one of the most influential people on the Internet.
“If you know me, then you know who I am and that I have fun and eat and am so appreciative for my life,” Paltrow said.
