Hayground School's 12th Annual Chefs Dinner to be Held July 31
On Sunday, July 31, the Hayground School in Bridgehampton will hold its 12th Annual Chefs Dinner.
The event will be honoring Toni Ross of Nick & Toni’s in East Hampton, also a founding parent of the Hayground School, and Chef Claudia Fleming of the North Fork Table & Inn. The dinner will also be in conjunction with the celebration of the school’s twentieth anniversary.
The Chef’s Dinner is held every year in benefit of the school, each year featuring a revered team of Celebrated Chefs from restaurants on the East End and New York City. The dinner will be followed by a live auction.
This year’s Celebrated Chefs include Josh Capon (Lure Fishbar, Bowery Meat Co.), Tom Colicchio (Crafted Hospitality), Elizabeth Falkner (Chef/ Author/ Artist), Alex Guarnaschelli (Butter), Abigail Hitchcock (Camaje Bistro), Marc Meyer (Cookshop, Hundred Acres, Rosie’s), Christian Mir (Stone Creek Inn), Joe Realmuto (Nick & Toni’s), Jason Weiner (Almond, L&W Oyster Co.) Sommelier Julie Berger (Nick & Toni’s) and Fromager Michael Cavaniola (Cavaniola’s Gourmet).
The Hayground School was founded in 1996, built on a curriculum of hands-on learning and individualized mentors for children ages 3–14. The program allows each child to grow and foster their intellectual and artistic capabilities, with the lessons learned in the classroom put to use in practical and tangible ways. Residing on 13 acres of farmland, the Hayground School has become known for its culinary program, which allows children to learn how to prepare the school’s meals while also learning about the science, nutrition and gardening aspects that go into food preparation.
The funds from the school’s annual Chefs Dinner have allowed the culinary to flourish over the years, as well as supporting the school’s progressive curriculum.
The dinner will take place at Jeff’s Kitchen at the Hayground School, 151 Mitchell Lane, Bridgehampton. Tickets are currently available at haygroundchefsdinner.org, with donations also accepted. The event is limited to only 200 seats, so act now and take part in an event that will be as delicious as it is beneficial for the community’s children.
