What does Lumber Liquidators offer that sets your services apart from others?
We offer a wide variety of solid, laminate, bamboo, vinyl and tile flooring. We have licensed and insured installers who guarantee their work for a year, and also accept financing. People who come into Lumber Liquidators should feel confident that they’ll speak with knowledgeable associates who will assist in selecting the right product for them. We’re a one-stop shop, from the flooring to the installations, to the cleaning products we offer for maintaining your floor. We’ll also be having a Contractors’ Open House July 23 through July 31.
What flooring options are popular in the Hamptons?
When choosing flooring, everyone’s situation is different. Right now, grays and whites are a popular trend. We offer several grays and whites in every type of flooring—laminate, vinyl and engineered. Many people who’re doing basements choose our vinyl or tile option, while people who are replacing or putting down new flooring in main living spaces prefer wood or bamboo due to durability and resale value. Laminates are popular in kids’ bedrooms or playrooms because they hold up to high traffic and can really take a beating!
What do you recommend customers know when choosing flooring?
Customers should come with the basic knowledge of their homes—for example, the different floors that are adjoining, the type of subfloor they have, and whether they’re on, above, or below grade. Knowing this basic information will assist us in determining the type of floor and installation that best suits their needs.
Do you have any tips for the installation processes?
The subfloor determines what type of installation method to use. If you’ve decided to do the installation yourself, you may want to choose an easier application such as click and lock, as it’s less complicated and requires the least amount of tools and experience.
How long does it take to install the average floor?
The size of our jobs varies from 100 feet to 2,000 feet. The average size main floor of a house is approximately 1,000 feet. On a 1,000-square-foot size job where we’re nailing down a solid wood floor, it would take approximately three to four days. To click a laminate or bamboo floor into place takes approximately two to three days. Our installers are extremely skilled at working with our product, so the customer’s project can be completed in a timely manner.
What are the advantages of hardwood flooring versus carpet?
Hardwood floors add resale value to the home. They’re extremely durable, easy to maintain, and enhance the beauty of the home. Carpet has been proven to be difficult to clean and maintain.
What if a customer wants their floors to have a vintage look?
Lumber Liquidators manufactures and distributes its wood from our own mills; however, the look that reclaimed wood offers can be found in our Virginia Mills hand-scraped hardwood line. Hand-scraped offers the benefit of that rustic reclaimed look, while being easy to maintain. We also carry stair treads, moldings and our popular butcher block countertops.
