Super Saturday Returns to Nova's Ark Project July 30
Super Saturday NY returns to Water Mill at Nova’s Ark Project to benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Association (OCRFA). Often called the “designer yard sale,” Super Saturday features over 150 top designers and is an annual full-day shopping event that attracts over 2,000 attendees, including local tastemakers, celebrities and media.
“People come back year after year to experience the thrill of guilt-free shopping for a purpose, to support the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance and eliminate ovarian cancer,” says
Robbie Franklin, OCRFA Vice President of Marketing and Communications.
The event was established in 1998 by the late Liz Tilberis, who was the editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar and an Ovarian Cancer Research Fund President, along with fashion designer, Donna Karan. Karan will once again hosting the event alongside Kelly Ripa of Live!, joined by Karan’s daughter, Gabby Karan de Felice.
Sponsored by the QVC broadcast network, Super Saturday 2016 features top designer and luxury brands at reduced prices. These will include alice+olivia, Bonpoint, DKNY, Frank & Eileen, Nicole Miller, Ralph Lauren and Urban Zen. “You never know what fabulous designer bargain you will find,” says Franklin. “Super Saturday is the signature fundraising event for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance. The event has grown to become one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the summer.”
The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance is looking forward to a great summer event. “Each year, people show their commitment to ending this horrible disease by shopping at Super Saturday. Their passion for the cause is expressed in every purchase. The designers and brands that participate and give their time and energy are amazing, and we’re grateful that they are willing to stand with us to fight this disease,” says Franklin.
The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance is the largest global organization dedicated to advancing private ovarian cancer research. The success of the Super Saturday event has aided in identifying how ovarian cancer cells grow, and possible ways to stop them from continuing to grow, through its funding of research. “Thanks to this event, research is being developed that will lead to more effective identification, treatment and ultimately a cure for ovarian cancer,” says Franklin.
Super Saturday is a family event. In addition to the shopping, it’s a day that can be spent eating and enjoying fun activities with your children. Each year features a kids carnival with exciting rides, games and crafts. There will also be many luxury experience tents on the grounds, including—for the first time ever this year—a Murdock men’s shaving lounge, and a unique Lifestyle Marketplace with specially curated home items and accessories.
