The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) Opens at Southampton Cultural Center
The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) opens at Southampton Cultural Center on July 14. The show follows three “bad” actors who attempt to perform all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays within 90 minutes. With fast-paced action, entrances, costume changes, and witty humor, there is never a dull moment on stage. Whether you’re an avid Shakespeare fan or couldn’t wait for it to be over in high school, you’ll find this show hilarious and enjoyable. It’s a family friendly production, so bring your kids to show them the fun side of Shakespeare.
Written by the three founding members of the Reduced Shakespeare Company—Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield—The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) has become a popular, widely produced show. It was first performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1987, before a nine year run at the Criterion Theatre in London. It has since been performed around the world.
This will be the inaugural show for Purpled Pheasant Productions, a new theater company that will serve the Hamptons by producing professional, Manhattan-caliber plays.
The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) runs through July 31, with $30 tickets for adults and $22 tickets for kids. For more details and ticket information, head to purpledpheasant.com.
