Christie Brinkley Visits Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden

Who says you can’t be friends with your exes?

Hamptonites Christie Brinkley and Billy Joel seem to be great pals. The former couple, who divorced 22 years ago as of this week, share a daughter in Alexa Ray. Joel recently had a daughter, Della Rose, with fourth wife Alexis Roderick, and Brinkley attended one of his Madison Square Garden concerts hoping to meet the newest member of the family.

Brinkley told Showbiz411.com, “I actually went backstage the other night at Madison Square Garden hoping to meet his new baby daughter, Della Rose” Christie told me. “He’d been wanting me to see her and I was dying to meet her. But she wasn’t feeling well, so it will have be next time.” Brinkley also told Showbiz411 that she ended her relationship with John Mellencamp because “He didn’t like the Hamptons, and I couldn’t live in Indiana.”

Fans can catch Brinkley at Guild Hall this Friday, August 26, in Celebrity Autobiography. In Celebrity Autobiography, celebrities read other celebrities’ memoirs with hilarious results. Brinkley is expected to read from Brooke Shields’ memoir, while Shields will be reading from Brinkley’s! The cast also includes Dick Cavett, Tovah Feldshuh, Colin Jost, Richard Kind, Susan Lucci, Eugene Pack, Dayle Reyfel, Alan Zweibel and others to be announced or make surprise appearances.

Joel lovers can see him perform at Madison Square Garden, where he holds residency.
