Hamptons Week Ahead: Carnivals, Comedians & Comics
Clear your calendar! You won’t want to miss any of these events this week. From community carnivals to East Hampton’s first comic con, here are the highlighted happens for the week ahead.
Tuesday, August 2
Sag Harbor Fireman’s Carnival
The annual carnival is back on Bay Street in Sag Harbor! Head down every night from Tuesday through Saturday for carnival fun, games and treats. A firework display will take place on Saturday, August 6.
Hampton Bays Fire Department Fair
At 7 p.m., downtown Hampton Bays comes alive for the fire department’s kickoff parade. Join in the festivities and enjoy the activities and games every night this week through Sunday. The fair will remain open until 11 p.m. every night.
Thursday, August 4
11th Annual Long Island Comedy Showcase
At 8 p.m. make your way over to Suffolk Theater for an evening of some of the nation’s best comedy. See Christ Roach (Umbrellas Kill the Movie) and improve duo Isaac’s & Baker. Surprise guests will arrive throughout the evening. Ticket information is available at suffolktheater.com
Friday, August 5
6th Annual Shop at Sunset
East Hampton’s finest retailers will remain open until 6 p.m. on Main Street this Friday with special sales, gifts with purchases, trunk shows, music and drinks. A portion of the evening proceeds will benefit The Retreat, the East End’s only domestic violence services agency.
Saturday, August 6
Clothesline Art Sale
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guild Hall will host their annual Clothesline Art Sale. Nearly 400 East End artists show their work, with prices ranging from $50 to $2,200. Proceeds are split 50/50 between artists and Guild Hall. Visit guildhall.org to find out more.
Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival Annual Benefit
At 6:30 p.m. the Atlantic Golf Club in Bridgehampton will play host to a superb group of musicians as they perform a program of 300 years of composition, from Vivaldi to Schnittke’s homage to Mozart. The program will conclude with cocktails and dinner. Visit bcmf.org for more information.
Montauk Playhouse Gala
Support Montauk Playhouse with an evening of dinner, dancing and a live and silent auction. Enjoy live music by Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue. All proceeds will fund the construction of an Aquatic and Cultural Center in the historic Montauk Playhouse. Visit montaukplayhouse.org.

East Hampton Pop-Up Comic Con
