Kelly Ripa's New Live! Co-Host to Be Announced Soon
Kelly Ripa’s next permanent co-host for Live! is going to be announced soon, according to internet reports.
After Michael Strahan departed the series earlier this year in a flurry of controversy when ABC reportedly didn’t tell Ripa ahead of time, the show has featured Ripa with a series of guest hosts since late May. It’s unknown who the frontrunners are to replace the former NFL player, who left Live! to join the cast of Good Morning America.
In the meantime, the next wave of guest co-hosts has been announced. The co-hosts for next week will be Journalist David Muir on Monday, August 15; Empire’s Jussie Smollett on Tuesday, August 16; Scandal’s Guillermo Diaz on Wednesday, August 17; actor John Leguizamo on Thursday, August 18; and Ripa’s longtime friend/Hamptons fan Andy Cohen on Friday, August 19.
Cohen is among those rumored to be up for the co-hosting gig. Also rumored to be considered: Anderson Cooper, Jerry O’Connell and Fred Savage, known best for starring on The Wonder Years. ABC will neither confirm nor deny that anybody is in the running.
