Patrick McMullan Exhibits 'Images from the 90s' at Tulla Booth Gallery
Sag Harbor’s Tulla Booth Gallery is exhibiting Images from the 90s, a selection of photographs from American photographer and television personality Patrick McMullan through November 10.
A familiar face at all the Hamptons’ hottest events, McMullan is known as the premier nightlife photographer in New York City. Taken in legendary nightclubs, at nationally televised award shows and anywhere else that attracts A-list celebrities, fashion designers, models, actors, politicians, cultural icons and the power elite, McMullan’s photographs focus on people, including many of the most recognizable faces in the world.
McMullan’s work appears regularly in his weekly New York Magazine column, “Party Lines,” as well as columns in Interview and Gotham among others. He is also a contributing editor at Vanity Fair. His photography has been featured in publications worldwide such as The New York Times Magazine and Vogue, and in international editions of Harper’s Bazaar, Details, Tatler and Out to name a few. Patrick McMullan’s editorial works include recent stories in Details and Paper magazines, and his 2003 book so80s is the ultimate collection of images from New York nightlife in that decade. He also published Glamour Girls in 2007, Kiss Kiss in 2006, Intents in 2004 and The Men’s Show in 2000.
Beyond his books and magazine work, the Patrick McMullan photo collection is perhaps one of the largest topical photo archives of famous, living people in existence, and his Patrick McMullan Company (patrickmcmullan.com) is a full service photography and digital imaging agency.
McMullan was born in New York and raised in Huntington. He was educated at New York University, where he majored in business and “minored in Studio 54.”
As pop art legend and fixture of New York nightlife Andy Warhol once said, “If you don’t know Patrick McMullan, you ought to get out more!”
