Hamptons Celebs on TV: Harvey Weinstein's New Show, Kelly Ripa on CNN, Bethenny Frankel for Mayor?
Hamptons movie man Harvey Weinstein is teaming up with Matthew Weiner, creator of AMC’s Mad Men, to develop a series for Amazon. Weinstein and Amazon reportedly will share the $70 million cost for the show, whose rights they won after a competitive bidding war. Weinstein said of Weiner in a statement, “He is an incredible storyteller whose work on Mad Men elevated television and kick-started a new era of innovative programming with compelling and addicting television content. We’re looking forward to creating the next big series with him.”
Kelly Ripa, Water Mill resident and host of Live! on ABC, will join South Forker Anderson Cooper for the 10th annual CNN Heroes: An All Star Tribute. The pair will co-host the celebratory event, which honors those who went above and beyond to help others this year. The show airs live on Sunday, December 11, at 8 p.m. on CNN.
Happy Birthday, Bethenny Frankel! The entrepreneur and star of Bravo’s Real Housewives of New York City turned 46 on November 4. Besides her new year, the Bridgehampton resident had another reason to celebrate recently, when Fortune magazine interviewed her for a “Fortune Unfiltered” episode. The feature discussed how Frankel turned reality TV into serious business. Following Donald Trump‘s election upset, becoming America’s President Elect early Wednesday morning, Frankel tweeted that she might as run to become the next mayor of New York! Things got uglier from there as a political tweet war broke out on her page Thursday…
Well, obviously i’m running for mayor of New York
