Dan's 12 Wines of Christmas Dinner: Jamesport Vineyards Tasting Notes
Have you purchased your tickets for Dan’s 12 Wines of Christmas Dinner, presented by The Cardinale Group? This exciting evening of local wines paired with a fabulous, four-course dinner prepared by North Fork Chocolate Company’s Executive Chef Steven Amaral is not to be missed.
Three Long Island vineyards will be represented, each bringing four unique and flavorful offerings. Today, we’re looking at the selections from Jamesport Vineyards.
Jamesport Vineyards Dry Riesling: This wine is done in “Trocken” style. It has a perfect balance of acidity and fruit. Aromas of apricot, pear, and apple. The flavor is crisp, and refreshing with the perfect level of acid. Great with spicy food and strong cheeses.
Jamesport Vineyards East End Chardonnay: A light bodied, fruit driven Chardonnay. With aromas of citrus, pear, and melon. Flavors of ripe apples and pear. High flavor intensity and length.
Jamesport Vineyards Estate Merlot: The ruby hues of this wine give a rich hint of blueberry and plum. Flavors of dark chocolate and vanilla with soft tannins. Merlot grows well on Long Island and has a fruity, but medium bodied flavor.
Jamesport Vineyards Estate Cabernet Franc: Bright fruit aromas with hints of baked cherry pie, toasted pecans and coconut. Elegant tannin in the mid palate and length that will mature well into the next decade.
