Mariska Hargitay Joins SVU Costar Chris Meloni for His Birthday

Hamptonite Mariska Hargitay met with her former Law & Order: Special Victims Unit costar Chris Meloni for his 56th birthday on Sunday, April 2—too bad it wasn’t on the show. At least they shared the moment with the world via Twitter and Instagram.

The pair spent 12 seasons as partners on SVU before Meloni left the show in 2011. Hargitay is still starring in the role of Olivia Benson on SVU, which has now reached 18 seasons on NBC. The pair remain excellent friends offscreen, as can clearly be seen in the adorable photos below. Hargitay is even godmother to Meloni’s daughter, Sophia Eva Meloni, who was born in March of 2001.
