East Hampton Village Hosts First Street Fair in Over 300 Years

We’ve seen them in Sag Harbor, Greenport and various other local hamlets and villages, but for the first time in over 300 years, the Village of East Hampton is holding its own street fair! The First Annual Spring Celebration Street Fair, hosted by the East Hampton Chamber of Commerce, is on Saturday, May 20 from 11 a.m.–6 p.m.

This momentous event will offer more than 60 booths lining Newtown Lane where local artists, shopkeepers and over 30 non-profits are displaying items for sale or information about their organizations. Featured non-profits include the Pollock-Krasner House, Children’s Museum of the East End (CMEE), East Hampton YMCA, East Hampton Historical Society and East Hampton Trails Preservation Society. There will also be a Main Street Stage featuring live music all day—from bluegrass to folk to rock n roll.

Additionally, Amber Waves Farms is providing a hands-on farming exhibit for kids and adults, but there will also be plenty of kids-only activities in the KIDZONE featuring a climbing wall, jumping castle, face painters, arts and crafts and more.

And Hampton Free Ride is providing shuttle service from John Marshall Elementary School parking lot.

It’s going to be a blast, and hopefully the first of many street fairs to come.
