Bobby Flay Files Lawsuit Over Uncomfortable Sofa
Celebrities are no strangers to lawsuits. Whether it’s a bitter divorce, libel, defamation of character, it seems that stars are always involved in some legality. But this case kind of takes the cake…food pun intended.
Amagansett’s Bobby Flay has filed a lawsuit against Jamie Stern Design for an—wait for it—”intolerably uncomfortable” couch. Now, before you start laughing uncontrollably, there is a bit more to it than that. According to the filing, Flay had worked with Jamie Stern Design to make a leather sectional sofa for his home in New York. After spending $19,046.35 on the project, Flay found the couch unusable “for any extended period of time.”
There are currently no details on what makes the sofa so uncomfortable, but if we spent almost $20,000 on a couch and found it to be hard or lumpy we’d be pretty angry. Interestingly, Flay received the sofa all the way back in February, 2016. Why did he put it up with such an uncomfortable situation for so long? He just filed the lawsuit on June 8.
Flay is suing for the price of the sofa, plus any pre- and post-judgment interest. He is represented by Ferber, Chan, Essner & Coller, LLP. The Food Network megastar has yet to comment on the matter, which is understandable given the, uh, enormity of the situation.
Best of luck to all parties involved…
