Hilaria Baldwin Honored by Wellness Foundation
Sag Harbor’s Wellness Foundation honored Yoga Vida cofounder, The Living Clearly Method author, active mom and overall queen of living well, Hilaria Baldwin, with their Illumination Award during the foundation’s 6th annual summer benefit at Mulford Farm in East Hampton on Saturday, June 24. This year’s summer benefit supported the Wellness Foundation’s programs in East End schools.
Each year, the Illumination Award is given to one remarkable individual who serves as a beacon of light to lead others on the path to wellness. Of course Baldwin does this in spades via social media—such as her year of yoga poses, 366 days of living clearly and sharing of healthy recipes, ideas for active living and positive parenting, and much more—her inspiring way of life and in the pages of her book, The Living Clearly Method.
“This award is one of the best things that has ever happened to me,” Baldwin said at the event. “I believe taking care of ourselves and our families is the most important investment we can make. If we don’t have our health and the health of our loved ones, we don’t have anything,” she continued, adding, “Wellness Foundation embodies everything I teach my children about being active and healthy. They are guided by the latest scientific research and I’m so appreciative of the work they do for our children and our community.”
In addition to accepting her award, Baldwin—who was joined by her husband, actor Alec Baldwin—signed copies of her book, The Living Clearly Method, which was complimentary for ticket holders. As explained on Amazon.com, “The Living Clearly Method shows how to blend purposeful movement with conscious breath to move through our lives with grace, calm, and positivity.” With a focus on remaining centered despite the struggles of a hectic life, the book offers Hilaria’s five principals, including perspective, breathing, grounding, balance and letting go, which she learned by applying her yoga practice and the union of mind, body and spirit to everyday life.
Vegan Iron Chef winner Jay Astafa served vegan hors d’oeuvres at the benefit, and MTK the Band performed live music.
“Hilaria is truly using her life to light the way to wellness for others. She is raising her children to be healthy and balanced and helping to make the world a healthier place for all our children,” said Jennifer Taylor, Wellness Foundation’s Executive Director of Education and Programs. “As an organization that is deeply committed to creating a healthy community and world for all kids we value and salute Hilaria.”
