Cruising Steady: Smokey Robinson & Aretha Franklin
When: July 14, 8 p.m.
Where: Suffolk Theater, 118 East Main Street, Riverhead
What: Broadway veterans Patrice Covington and Jesse Nager perform as the two long-time friends and music legends. Favorite songs like “Respect,” “I Second That Emotion,” “Natural Woman” and more will be performed. Suffolk Theater is open 90 minutes prior to the show for dining restaurant.

Art in the Park 2017
When: July 15 & 16, 11 a.m.–6 p.m.
Where: Agawam Park, Jobs Lane and Pond Lane, Southampton
What: More than 50 exhibitors will sell their photography, paintings, mixed media and more at the Southampton Artists Association annual Art in the Park Show. The Southampton Cub Scouts will have a bake sale and a caricaturist will be available for portraits.

THEATER
“The 39 Steps”
When: July 15, 7 p.m. (through July 30)
Where: Southampton Cultural Center, 25 Pond Lane, Southampton
What: This play by Patrick Barlow is a lampooning of the classic Alfred Hitchcock film. In this wacky murder mystery, four actors play 50 characters, with fast changes, fog machines, bad accents and more. The show will be followed by a Murdery Mystery Opening Night Reception. The 39 Steps is co-presented by Southampton Cultural Center and Via Brooklyn.

Dan’s Literary Salon
