Ladder Rescue Drill

Fortunately, it wasn’t an “in real life” fire that brought the Montauk Fire Department to Flying Point Surf Boutique and Montauk Bake Shoppe in the Village on Monday. It was the department’s “Back to Basics” Ladder Rescue Drill, where one fireman “victim” suffered a heart attack and needed CPR, and another “victim” fell from the ladder and broke his femur. Under the direction of MFD 1st Assistant Chief David Ryan, everything went perfectly. The Drill gave the new Rescue 2 truck a chance to practice on the job. As always, MFD Fire Police Company No. 6 kept the area secure.
