Cops Clocking Thieves
Time began ticking a little faster for a couple of perps who made off with an antique clock from a Southampton Village home last month.
Southampton Village cops released video surveillance and still photos from a neighbor’s home in hopes the footage will help gain some leads in their case against the pair. One man broke into the North Main Street home and stole the antique mantle clock, which dates back to the 1800s, and some jewelry. The red hoodie wearing burglar can be seen exiting a silver minivan — possibly a Chevrolet Ventura — then walking across the street to poke around the outside of the home at about 4:40 PM on April 10. Cops say he fled in the waiting van.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5000 for information leading to an arrest in the case. Anyone with information about the theft can submit an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-220-TIPS, texting “SCPD” and your message to “CRIMES” (274637), or by email at www.tipsubmit.com. All information received will be kept confidential.
