Last Wednesday, May 23, the newly expanded, but still laid-back and beachy Bistro Été in Water Mill was abuzz with talk of food and glasses clinking!
The gathering will go down in history as the meal of a lifetime for a select group of Hamptonites.
Le Cordon Bleu–trained chef Arie Pavlou and his wife Liz presented a special, intimate meal for the
Dan’s Taste of Summer Kick-off Dinner to launch Dan’s Taste of Summer, the season’s biggestfood events—Dan’s Rosé Soirée presented by Porsche on May 27; Dan’s GrillHampton presented by New York Prime Beef, July 20; Dan’s Taste of Two Forks presented by Farrell Building Company, July 21; and Dan’s Corona MonTaco Oceanfront Fiesta, August 4. All involved look forward to this feast becoming an annual tradition.
The evening began with rum and cane syrup cocktails. They were too new to have a name. Chef Arie extracted the sugar cane at the bar with his latest purchase, a sugar cane press. The drink, made with mint and lime, really broke the ice.
Attendees were fêted with Chef Arie’s original courses paired with a range of rosés, including the star of the evening, Anna Codorniu Brut Cava from Spain.
As you can see in the photos, it was a lovely evening. Yes way, rosé!
