Indy New Lead Media Sponsor For Chamber

The Independent Newspaper has begun a new partnership with the East Hampton Chamber of Commerce as the organization’s lead media sponsor.

“I am honored and excited about our new partnership with the Independent,” said the Chamber’s executive director Steven Ringel. “Together, we are on a mission to revitalize and invigorate the Village of East Hampton. We want to bring the community back to the village and create exciting and meaningful events. We’re going to make great strides together with The Independent and I couldn’t be happier.”

Some ideas being discussed include a new village farmers market and art installations, plus “music and movies in the park, food truck nights, and the re-imagining and growing our famous Santa Parade,” Ringel continued. There is also The Independent’s media sponsorship of two popular existing events: the spring street fair and the fall festival in Herrick Park.

Current Chamber president Steve Haweeli concurred. “The Chamber is better than ever, and it’s only going to skyrocket,” he said. “The Independent is also on the move and on the way up. It’s a good match.”
