Two Arrested In Robbery
A man and woman from Riverhead were arrested for stealing a wallet containing $600 from a person on West Main Street on Sunday, July 15, Riverhead Town Police said.
At about 7 PM the Riverhead Police Department responded to the area of West Main Street near Griffing Avenue, where they said they determined the victim was robbed of $600 by a man and woman. The pair, Jamar Newkirk, 22, and Kyisha Dozier, 30, were apprehended and detained as the Detective Division conducted an investigation, police said. They were charged with second-degree robbery, a felony, and were taken to Riverhead Town Police Headquarters for processing for morning arraignment.
The victim sustained minor injuries during the robbery, but did not require medical treatment.

Riverhead Men Arrested For Swiping Credit Cards
A man from Riverhead, just released from the Suffolk County Correctional Facility in Riverside on Friday, July 13, was arrested a day later on charges he and another man allegedly used stolen credit cards, Riverhead Town Police said.
Police said Richard Johannes used cards stolen in a burglary on June 20. Police said he was found with credit cards stolen from a car on East Main Street when he was arrested on Saturday. He was charged with felonies, including grand larceny, seven counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and five counts of second-degree identity theft, police said. A second man, Gino Florian, 18, of Riverhead was charged with one count each of second-degree identity theft and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, in connection with the use of the stolen credit cards, police said. He remains in the jail and additional charges against him for the use of the credit cards from the burglary are anticipated, police said.
Johannes was processed at Riverhead Police Headquarters and then held for arraignment.
Riverhead police are still investigating a pair of residential burglaries on East Avenue that took place on July 10. In the burglaries, which took place at neighboring homes at 223 East Avenue and 215 East Avenue, an undetermined amount of cash was stolen, according to police. Anyone with any information about either burglary has been asked to contact the Riverhead Town Police Detective Division at 631-727-4500. All calls will be kept confidential.
Grand Larceny Charge In Target Theft
37-year-old Mastic Beach woman has been arrested for stealing about $1200 worth of goods from Target in April, Riverhead Town Police said.
Police said Melanie King took about $1224 worth of items from the store on April 4 and was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony. She was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Riverhead Town Justice Court at a later date.
