Arrest In Animal Abuse
A 58-year-old Westhampton woman was arrested on Tuesday, July 31, for allegedly failing to provide care for her Chihuahuas, according to the Suffolk County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Nicy Young was charged with two counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty, for allegedly failing to provide care for her two dogs, resulting in their deaths. She is scheduled to appear in Southampton Town Justice Court on August 24, investigators said.
SPCA Chief Roy Gross said animal cruelty will not be tolerated in the county, and is asking anyone who witnesses any incident of animal cruelty or neglect to contact the Suffolk County SPCA at 631-382-7722. All calls will be kept confidential.
