Boo! Short & Scary Contest

Happy Halloween!

This year we had a spooky abundance of frightful writers – over 600 entries from classes ranging from Montauk to Moriches, and in every age range, kindergarten through grade 12.

It was so hard to narrow it down to 10 winners. And the truth is, you’re all winners if you took the time to sit down, come up with a story, write it out, and send it in. Enjoy the stories we were able to print – your friends are in here. It could be you next year!

Some of the stories have been lightly edited by literary ghosts in the office, to conform to our ghastly style.

Mad, scary props to the teachers who supported their students and mailed artwork and writing in to the Indy. You are amazing.
