Car Towed From Town Pond

Five men in an eastbound Hyundai Sonata headed to Montauk missed the turn from Woods Lane to Main Street in East Hampton and ended up in Town Pond early Saturday morning at around 4:45 AM.

The Sonata hit the water at the western edge of the pond with enough force to end up about 20 yards away by the southern edge of the pond. None of the men were badly hurt, and the driver was not arrested. It was dark and foggy at the time of the crash.

The car was pulled out of the pond and towed away by Rapid Recovery.
