Accident On Three Mile Harbor Road

East Hampton Town Police said Fernando Sanchez, 43, was headed west on Muir Boulevard on a bicycle at about 4:30 PM Monday, June 16, when he failed to stop at the intersection with Three Mile Harbor Road near Damark’s Deli.

Sanchez was struck by a motorist and sustained serious injuries, requiring him to be airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he remained as of press time.

There were as many as a dozen emergency vehicles at the scene as emergency service personnel tended to the victim, and police investigated the accident scene. The road remained closed for several hours.
