Man Ran Brisk Drug Biz, Police Say

Some Westhampton residents are allowed to conduct business from their residences but dealing drugs is most assuredly not an allowable use.

Jack Ryan Martin, 23, allegedly learned the lesson the hard way on June 14.

That’s when off1cers from the Southampton Town Police Community Response Unit, who said they were acting on complaints from neighbors, swooped in.

The raid followed a 10-day investigation that allegedly revealed Martin was engaged in the sale of marijuana, THC vape cartridges, and vape pens to young adults and high school students — and he wasn’t shy about it, police said: he advertised on social media. That made his pad behind the Mill Road 7-Eleven store a convenient stop-off place for shoppers, according to a police press release.

The police units that showed up Friday morning at Martin’s apartment weren’t there to shop. Martin was arrested and charged with two felonies: second-degree criminal sale of marijuana and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and several other drug-related offenses. Police also recovered THC vape cartridges, an undisclosed quantity of marijuana. and a total of $3000 in cash, they said. Martin was arrested, processed, arraigned, and will have to answer the charges in court.

Perhaps not coincidentally, Southampton Town Police announced the launch of Twitter and Instagram accounts.

On June 4, at approximately 4:30 PM, Jerson Mejia, 40, of Riverhead, was arrested on Hampton Road and charged with aggravated unlicensed operations in the third degree and operating a vehicle with a suspended registration, both misdemeanors. Later that day Maria Ordonez, 38, of Southampton, was arrested on Hampton Road and charged with operating a vehicle with a suspended registration, a misdemeanor. The vehicle was impounded.

On June 6, at approximately 5:20 PM, William J. Wolf III, 33, of Miller Place was arrested on Moses Lane and charged with aggravated unlicensed operations in the third degree, a misdemeanor. Carlos Hernan Patino Sinche, 27, of East Hampton was arrested on County Road 39 at about 8 AM that same day and charged with possessing a fictitious NYS inspection sticker, a misdemeanor.

Bailey Mockler, 22, of Westhampton was allegedly strolling down Main Street on June 5 enjoying an alcoholic beverage but that’s a village code violation and he was ticketed.

A day later about 2 PM Pearl Meyers, age 81, of NYC was arrested on Jobs Lane and charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor. Meyers is alleged to have stolen a piece of jewelry from a store on Jobs Lane on June 6, which was captured on video surveillance. She was processed and released on an appearance ticket.

Marc Daniel Jacobson, 18, of NYC, apparently had trouble finding the public restrooms on June 9. He was cited on Main Street for public urination, a violation.
