OptoSonic Tea
For 2019’s Platform, the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill features a two-part project by the New York City-based artist collective OptoSonic Tea, founded in 2006 by Katherine Liberovskaya and Ursula Scherrer to explore the interaction of live visuals and live audio. The Platform project comprises OptoSonic Echoes, a sound installation at the museum from August 15 to October 31; and OptoSonic Tea @ the Parrish, a site-specific indoor/outdoor multimedia performance with approximately 20 artists on Friday, September 27, from 7 to 11 PM.
Curated by Corinne Erni, senior curator of ArtsReach and special projects, OptoSonic Tea continues the museum’s commitment to Platform — the Parrish’s open-ended invitation to a single artist or artist collective to consider the entire museum as a potential site for works that transcend disciplinary boundaries, encouraging new ways to experience art, architecture, and the landscape.
