LIRR Trestle Dedication

10/21/2019
According to Long Island Rail Road management, if you ask someone from the Metropolitan Transit Authority, it is called a “bridge.” The LIRR calls it a “trestle.” Whatever word you choose, workers can be seen busy at work on the Department of Public Works lot putting the finishing touches on the sheathing for the support pilings of the new East Hampton trestle, while cranes positioned at Accabonac and Hook Mill roads make progress. Top management from the LIRR and MTA, East Hampton Village Mayor Paul Rickenbach, EH Village Administrator Rebecca “Becky” Hansen, and village Police Lieutenant Greg Browne assembled at the site on October 9 to celebrate the progress.
