PBMC Opens New Heart Center
On Friday, January 10, Peconic Bay Medical Center unveiled the Corey Critical Care Pavilion and Kanas Regional Heart Center, a $67.8-million facility that fulfills Northwell Health’s promise to East End residents to provide a wider breadth of life-saving services closer to home.
The critical care facility includes a rooftop helipad and a 16-bed intensive and cardiac care unit.
Donations from the Corey and Kanas families toward the building were part of a 2015 campaign to raise $28 million. More than $33 million has been received to date, including $600,000 donated by the almost 1,000 Peconic Bay Medical Center employees.
