Love, Pets, And Penguins
The Rogers Memorial Library February calendar is filled with fun happenings for teens, like chocolate fondue-making on Wednesday, February 5, which happens to be National Fondue Day, from 4 to 5 PM. This program may not be suitable for patrons with food allergies.
Did you know that penguins have excellent hearing, despite not having ears? Sculpt your own version out of clay on Thursday, February 6, 5 to 6 PM.
Learn how to crochet an infinity scarf in this two-part class on Tuesday, February 11 and Wednesday, February 12, 4 to 5 PM.
In honor of Valentine’s Day, the library will offer a talk for all ages on “The Way We Love,” Wednesday, February 12, at 12:30 PM. Novelist Simon Van Booy will read a selection of his favorite pieces from fiction, philosophy, and poetry. A reception will follow.

For Kids And Adults
Amagansett Library children’s programs on Thursday, February 6, start at 10:30 AM with First Story Time for children up to three years old. The Lego Club starts at 3:30 PM for kindergarteners and up. Playtime for babies and little ones will be at the library on Friday, February 7 at 10:15 AM.
For adults, a genealogy class will be held on Thursday, February 13, from 6 to 7 PM. The topic discussed will be DNA and your privacy.

Health Fair
Stony Brook Southampton Hospital and the East Hampton Healthcare Foundation and will co-sponsor a free community Health Fair at the Most Holy Trinity School on Friday, February 7, from 11 AM to 2 PM. Highlights include health screenings (cholesterol, blood pressure, HIV), applications for colorectal screenings, and appointments for no-cost mammogram and pap tests for uninsured women over the age of 40. Reps and information will be on hand from health insurance organizations, Medicare, HRHCare Community Health, the Town of East Hampton Human Services department, and The Retreat. Herbal Valentines
Marder’s is offering herbal-inspired Valentine’s classes on Saturday, February 8, for ages five and up from 10 to 11:30 AM. A $35 fee includes all materials. For more information, visit www.marders.com.
HAH Workshops
The Horticultural Alliance of the Hamptons will host a workshop with Chris Paparo, “From Plankton to Whales — Why Our Waters Are Worth Saving” on Saturday, February 8, 10 AM to noon. Admission is $10 for the public and $5 for HAH members.
The Alliance will also host “Gardenlust, A Botanical Tour of the World’s Best New Gardens” on Sunday, February 9, at 2 PM. Admission is $10, free for members. The workshops will be held at the Bridgehampton Community House main auditorium. For more information, visit www.HAHgarden.org.
Shark Talk, Moonlit Hike
The South Fork Natural History Museum presents an update and Q&A by SoFo’s Shark Research and Education Program. It will be led by Greg Metzger on Saturday, February 8, at 10:30 AM at the museum. For ages eight and up.
Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt and the South Fork Natural History Museum will sponsor a leisurely paced hike through open field trails, behind the museum on Sunday, February 9, from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. Pasta With A Purpose
Longtime EMT Randy Hoffman has not been able to move his legs since he experienced complications during spinal surgery. The Montauk Fire Department is hosting a pasta dinner to help Hoffman on Saturday, February 8.

Science Lab At The Spur
The Spur is partnering with the Tesla Science Center to develop a curriculum for i-KIDS that explores robotics, drones, coding challenges, electronics, basic circuitry, and other topics focused on creative and innovative thinking. Drop off is at the i-lab on Saturday, February 8, from 10 to noon. Space is limited. This program is available for kids age seven to 12.
A meet and greet networking event will be held at the Spur on Elm Street in Southampton on Monday, February 10, 6 to 8 PM. Come meet other like-minded local entrepreneurs and learn about plans for 2020. Complimentary drinks and snacks will be provided.

Chamber Music Series
The Poetica Ensemble will be playing its third concert of the Luminary Chamber Music Series at Queen of Most Holy Rosary in Bridgehampton on Sunday, February 9, at 4 PM. Drag Queen Story Hour
The Children’s Museum of the East End will host Drag Queen Story Hour’s Hamptons debut on Saturday, February 15, from 10 AM to noon. DQSH started in 2015, and champions literacy while encouraging kids to celebrate gender diversity and all kinds of differences, while building confidence in expressing themselves. The event is free for members and included with the cost of admission for non-members. Crafting supplies are limited, and pre-registration is strongly encouraged.
