Fatal Accident On Napeague Meadow Road

A New York City woman was killed when the 2019 Nissan Kicks she was driving left the roadway on Napeague Meadow Road on March 4 and crashed into a utility pole, East Hampton Town police announced late that morning. Ellyn Tucker, 73, was rushed to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital by an Amagansett ambulance crew where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The wreck was discovered a little before 6 AM.

The utility pole has since been replaced. There does not appear to be any skid marks on the road where the crash is said to have taken place.

Police impounded the car to examine it for any possible safety defects.
