Historical Photo Of The Week
The Suffolk County Historical Society Museum in Riverhead will remain closed and will suspend all upcoming events at this time. During the closure, the organization invites community members to visit the website, www.SuffolkCountyHistoricalSociety.org, for updates and special offerings, including a free subscription to its Photo of the Week email.
Senior Assistance
In order to assist seniors and veterans, the Town of Riverhead created a Senior Assistance for Essentials program. It is free, and was developed to ensure resident seniors and veterans can obtain essential items without the risk of exposure to the novel coronavirus. To register for the program and contact any of the participating local merchants to place a pre-paid order, call 631-727-3200 Monday through Friday between 10 AM and 2 PM. Online Lesson
East End Arts in Riverhead says it’s a great time to fit in a private music lesson. The organization is up and running with its online lessons and teachers offering flexible platforms that work on multiple devices. If interested, email education@eastendarts.org.
Life Coaching
Marisa Striano, life coach and founder of Spirit’s Promise Equine Rescue, will offer free 30-minute life coaching sessions via phone to help others cope during this time. The Long Island Aquarium
The Long Island Aquarium is soliciting donations via GoFundMe to assist them during the coronavirus pandemic. The Riverhead aquarium is currently closed to the public per the New York state mandate and the attempt to slow the spread of the illness, eliminating approximately 60,000 visitors and incoming revenue during this time of the closure. Oysterponds Lecture
