Southampton Hosting Virtual Meeting
Due to public health and safety concerns related to COVID-19, the Southampton Town Board will not be meeting in-person. In accordance with Governor Andrew Cuomo’s executive order, the Tuesday, April 14, meeting will be held at 1 PM via videoconferencing, and a transcript will be provided at a later date. The public will have an opportunity to see and hear the meeting live and provide comments.
The meeting will feature a minutes approval from the town’s last meeting, on March 24, a list of public notices, a monthly financial report from town Comptroller Len Marchese, six public hearings, and a list of resolutions.
Included in the public hearings are a consideration of imposing a moratorium on certain development actions in Shinnecock Hills, reconstruction or expansion of pre-existing marinas and boatyards, the accepting of a grant of conservation easement and deed of residual fee from Blair K Gazza for open space property maintenance in North Sea, and several Community Preservation Fund land transfers and acquisitions.
Items included in the resolutions packet include authorizing Supervisor Jay Schneiderman to sign New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation grant documents pertaining to the Hampton Bays Downtown Overlay District Wastewater Treatment Plant Study, an up to $150,000 funding source for COVID-19 relief efforts through the Long Island Community Foundation’s All for the East End Fund, and approval of an application to Suffolk County for the town to receive an amount not to exceed $34,500 under the 2020 Stop-DWI Program.
