COVID-Ripple Effect: No Splish Splash This Summer
It’s official: Splish Splash, the water park in Calverton, will not open its doors for the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This would have been the park’s 30th anniversary.
“Our announcement comes as a result of the continued uncertainty surrounding the pandemic in New York,” the company posted on its website and social media pages Wednesday afternoon. “This is an unfortunate situation, and we know so many of you share in our disappointment.”
The management team said it does not want to do anything to jeopardize the health and safety of the community and is looking ahead to the 2021 season.
All 2020 season passes have been automatically extended to include the 2021 season. All 2020 admission tickets, including 2019 rain checks, will be valid next summer at no additional cost. In fact, the management team said the 2020 season passes will be upgraded to receive even more benefits next year.
