Curbside Storm Debris Pickup in Southampton, Riverhead
The cleanup from Tropical Storm Isaias is continuing on the East End.
Starting Wednesday, Southampton Town Highway Department is going to be picking up storm debris left at the curb. “This consists of sticks and limbs no longer that 10 feet. We will not be removing tree stumps, yard clearing, or leaves,” a press release said.
In Riverhead Town, the highway department is passing through each street once to pick up storm debris between Monday and Friday.
The Riverhead Yard Waste Facility will remain open seven days a week through August 17 for residents wishing to dispose of storm vegetation debris on their own. All fees will be waived and a yard waste permit will not be required, however, a photo ID and additional proof of residency, such as registration, tax bill, or utility bill, will be required.
