Southampton Town Police Explorers Looking for Unwanted Shoes
You know that pair of shoes that you bought but you never quite found anytime to wear? The Southampton Town police want them.
Alright, maybe not the police per se, but the department’s Explorers program does.
The Explorers, a group of young people exploring the possibility of a career in law enforcement, are holding a shoe drive to benefit a non-profit organization called Soles4Souls. The non-profit organization provides employment opportunities while repairing gently-used shoes to sell in order to raise money for community needs. The organization also provides clothing and shoes for those who need it.
The collections will begin on Tuesday, September 1 and last two months through October 31.
