Man Wanted After Cops Say He Stole a Rolex, Wallet From Car at Sagaponack Beach
Police are asking for the public’s help to identify the man they said stole a Rolex watch and wallet from a parked car at a Sagaponack beach, then used one of the credit cards in the wallet.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Southampton Town police detectives said the man, whose image they released in a surveillance photo, swiped the Rolex and wallet from a parked vehicle at Gibson Beach on July 30. The man was later seen on surveillance camera using one of the stolen credit cards at three businesses making purchases totaling more than $790. Police did not say where the businesses are located.
The man is wearing a face covering, mandatory due to COVID-19, and a coral Polo shirt. If caught, he would be charged with grand larceny, a felony, at the very least.
