State Police Check for Underage Drinkers at Southampton Town Businesses
New York State Troopers from the Riverside barracks conducted “an underage drinker enforcement operation” in the Town of Southampton on Tuesday. Police checked 18 establishments, from gas station convenience stores to delis, to see if clerks would sell alcohol or beer to those under 21 and every single business was found to be in compliance with State Liquor Authority laws.
In Hampton Bays, state police visited Melrose Deli, the 7-Eleven, Hampton Bays Wine & Spirits, Hampton Bays Liquors, the Shell Mart on West Montauk Highway and the Shell Canoe Place Fuel Mart on East Montauk Highway, as well as Cork and Jug Wine & Liquors.
Over in Southampton, police went to several gas stations, including Gas Hampton, Shell Petroleum, Speedway and Sunoco, as well as Bottle Hampton, Zabi Spirits, Peconic Beverage, and the 7-Eleven.
Police also visited Strong Oil Company in Water Mill, Hampton Deli in Flanders and Thrifty Beverage in Riverside.
