Woman Found Dead on Montauk Beach

Police are investigating the death of a woman who was found on a Montauk beach overlooking Fort Pond Bay Saturday afternoon.

East Hampton Town police said a middle-aged woman’s body was discovered on the beach between the Edward V. Ecker Sr. County Park and the town beach at Navy Road at approximately 12:50 p.m.

No foul play is suspected, according to detectives.

The Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s office responded and will determine the cause of death.

The woman’s identity is being withheld pending notification of her next of kin, police said.
