Woman Swipes Pricey Handbag From East Hampton Village Boutique
Police are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the woman who stole an expensive handbag from an East Hampton Village store earlier this month.
According to East Hampton Village police detectives, a woman stole the bag, worth $1,580, from Kirna Zabête on Saturday, September 12. Kirna Zabête, a women’s luxury fashion retailer, is located at 66 Newtown Lane in the village, but it also has three other shops in Manhattan’s Soho, Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, and Palm Beach, Florida.
Employees did not report the theft until Monday, September 14. Grainy surveillance footage photos show a woman, wearing a COVID-19 face covering, walking through the store on September 12 at 12:55 p.m. They said she did not purchase anything and had not been a previous customer.
