East Hampton Airport’s Future Is Up for Discussion
The Town of East Hampton is inviting the community to take part in a series of four workshops with the goal of re-envisioning the future of East Hampton Airport following the expiration of FAA grant assurances. The public sessions, which will be conducted online and in-person over two weeks in September will focus on sharing the essential facts about the airport and gathering input from area residents to plan for its future.
Each workshop will begin with a brief presentation, followed by small group discussions. All of the sessions, no matter which date, will cover the same ground, with similar content and format, so citizens need not attend more than one.
Pre-registration on the East Hampton Town website is highly encouraged, but not required, for both virtual and in-person workshops. However, the two in-person venues have limited seating, and unregistered attendees will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.
The first of two in-person workshop will take place at LTV Studios (75 Industrial Road) in Wainscott on Thursday, September 9 at 7 p.m. Workshop #2 is virtual (Zoom link will be provided at ehamptonny.gov) on Friday, September 10 at 7 p.m. The third workshop is in-person at Montauk Playhouse (240 Edgemere Street) in Montauk on Monday, September 13 at 7 p.m. The fourth and final workshop is virtual (Zoom link provided at East Hampton Town website) on Monday, September 20 at 7 p.m. Masks are required at in-person workshops and attendees should allow time for parking.
