Podcast: Dan Talks with Tom Clavin, American Author
In each episode of the “Who’s Here in the Hamptons” podcast, Dan’s Papers founder Dan Rattiner introduces you to a new guest, some well known, others with interesting careers and stories, authors, musicians, restaurateurs, some characters and some behind-the-scenes people who live, work and play in the summer paradise of the rich and famous.
EPISODE 44: This week on the “Dan’s Talks” podcast, Dan speaks with Sag Harbor’s Tom Clavin, bestselling author of numerous books, including his latest, Blood and Treasure (with frequent writing partner Bob Drury) and the upcoming Lightning Down: A WWII Story of Survival, due to be published on November 2 of this year. Dan and Clavin talk about the author’s books and career, including how he went from writing for The New York Times to becoming a full-time author, and how he ended up here in the Hamptons. Among the books discussed is Dark Noon, Clavin’s 2007 recounting of the tragic wreck of Montauk fishing vessel The Pelican, a subject that has long interested Dan.
