Historic Amagansett Building Relists at $9.4 Million
The Hamptons Real Estate Commercial Team and the Petrie Team from Compass have come together to list a historic commercial property in the heart of Amagansett.
Home to the high-end boutique, TIINA the STORE, the property is now asking $9.4 million, down from $12 million it was asking back in March of 2022 when it was listed with different brokers. Hal Zwick and Jeff Sztorc from the Hamptons Commercial Team and the Petrie Team from Compass, the #1 Compass team in the Hamptons that specializes in high-end properties, are the current listing agents.
“216 Main Street is the Showcase Commercial property in the Hamptons. The building represents stature, elegance, and the finest the area has to offer. It deserves to be home to only the finest retailer, gallery, office, or financial institution,” the Zwick/Sztorc team said in a statement.
The Petrie Team added, “Located at 216 Main Street, this remarkable property in Amagansett is truly a standout. It is highly coveted among commercial ventures, thanks to its comprehensive reconstruction that seamlessly integrates modern amenities. Despite its modern upgrades, the exterior of the building still retains the charm and allure reminiscent of Amagansett’s rich historical heritage.”
Dating to the 1800s, the 0.31-acre property was redeveloped in 2018, including expansion and gut renovation, transforming it into a state-of-the-art commercial and residential building. The historic facade was maintained.
The store owner, fashion stylist, Tiina Laakkonen and her husband, Jon Rosen spearheaded the design, working with Bulgin & Associates on the construction, Blaze Makoid Architecture, Faye Toogood on the interiors and Luminance Design on the lighting.
The first floor offers 2,500 square feet of retail space with 19-foot vaulted ceilings and a separate entrance for staff. The walk-out lower level provides another 2,000 square feet and 14-foot ceilings. The building is also temperature and humidity controlled with a double door exterior freight loading entrance for receiving the merchandise.
