Hope for Depression Research Foundation Celebrates a Week of Hope

Returning for its milestone fifth year, the Hope for Depression Research Foundation‘s (HDRF) Week of Hope unveiled a dynamic lineup spearheaded by Founding Chair Audrey Gruss, who stood alongside Southampton Village Mayor William Manger Jr. for a momentous campaign launch at the Southampton Veronica Beard store. As the Week of Hope commenced, a vibrant tapestry of solidarity was woven throughout the town, with local businesses adorning their storefronts with sizable yellow HOPE balloons, each an environmentally conscious emblem of unity.
Gruss and esteemed psychiatrist-author Dr. Samantha Boardman later converged at the Southampton Arts Center for the illuminating Hope Summer Seminar. The session, aptly titled “How to Talk to Friends and Family About Mental Health,” was an essential discussion in a society increasingly attuned to the importance of mental wellness. The week’s crescendo unfurled as attendees, ranging from Southampton Arts Center members to curious non-members, partook in this enriching seminar. A wave of insight and understanding emanated, crystallizing the Week of Hope’s essence, while the Southampton Arts Center’s website served as an invaluable guide to this transformative journey of learning and healing.
