The Watermill Center held its highly anticipated 2023 summer benefit, marking a milestone in the world of art and performance. This year’s annual summer benefit was thoughtfully curated to celebrate The Watermill Center’s 30-plus-year association with performance art, with a particular focus on the body’s pivotal role in the creative process.

The event featured the grand opening of The Body, a captivating exhibition showcasing video works by the talented Guatemalan artist and poet Regina Jose Galindo. In addition, guests had the opportunity to explore the new exhibition Ghostwriting Paul Thek: Time Capsules and Reliquaries featuring works by the renowned Italian artist Alessandro Di Pietro.

The evening took on a special significance as it was held in honor of the esteemed American artist and choreographer Simone Forti, while also paying tribute to the late philanthropist Baroness Ninva Von Maltzahn. The Body embodied the essence of artistic expression and community, leaving a lasting impact on all who attended.
