Annual Watermill Center Benefit Features 'The Body' Exhibit
The Watermill Center held its highly anticipated 2023 summer benefit, marking a milestone in the world of art and performance. This year’s annual summer benefit was thoughtfully curated to celebrate The Watermill Center’s 30-plus-year association with performance art, with a particular focus on the body’s pivotal role in the creative process.
The event featured the grand opening of The Body, a captivating exhibition showcasing video works by the talented Guatemalan artist and poet Regina Jose Galindo. In addition, guests had the opportunity to explore the new exhibition Ghostwriting Paul Thek: Time Capsules and Reliquaries featuring works by the renowned Italian artist Alessandro Di Pietro.
The evening took on a special significance as it was held in honor of the esteemed American artist and choreographer Simone Forti, while also paying tribute to the late philanthropist Baroness Ninva Von Maltzahn.
