Father Constantine Visits the St. Nicholas Shrine
Father Constantine Lazarakis guided parishioners from the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Church in Southampton to Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church & National Shrine at the World Trade Center.
The original Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, which was tragically destroyed on 9/11 when the South Tower collapsed, was not lost on those who embarked on this pilgrimage. As a testament to resilience and hope, the rebuilt church stands strong, transformed into the Shrine for the Nation – a place of remembrance and reflection.
The group visited the hallowed grounds of St. Nicholas and the Freedom Tower, offering an opportunity for parishioners and visitors alike to pay their respects and honor the memory of those lost on that tragic day.
